Canon Background
Yoruichi's a relatively enigmatic character from Bleach. She spends most of her time on earth as a cat. She is originally from Soul Society, where she was a member of one of the four noble families, was commander of the covert ops corps, and was known as "God of Flash, Yoruichi" due to her skill at an ability (flashstep) granting incredible speed over short distances. However, around 100 years ago at the time of the series, she disappeared from Soul Society one night, following a friend who was exiled. The following hundred years was spent on earth with apparently little in the way of training or fighting.
AU Background
Born to an extremely rich family, she was captain of the karate team and record holder on the track team by her sophomore year of high school. However, when that year was over, she ran away from home. Due to various circumstances, she was successful, and finished high school living on her own in an apartment in the city. She hasn't spoken to her family since their final confrontation.
Restless and easily bored, she has trouble with buckling down to study. Fortunately, she's smart enough that she does reasonably well in her classes anyway. She's very outgoing and easily friendly, usually annoyed only when people act pretentious or superior.
Appearance
Yoruichi is tall for a woman, with a slim runner's build. She has dark skin, dark purple hair, and yellowish eyes. (Presumably the hair is purple dye over black, and the eyes are more like yellowish hazel, in universes where neither are naturally occuring colors.) Her hair is very long, so she usually wears it up in a thick pony tail. She favors close-fitting clothes, and is quick to grin - though her grins on occasion look a bit predatory.
